MediLingua is a Gold Sponsor of Translators without Borders (TWB). This organization facilitates the work professional translators donate to humanitarian organizations. Our managing director Simon Andriesen has served on TWB’s first Board of Directors and is one of the TWBs 5 ambassadors. He has set-up TWB’s Translator training centre in Kenya were over 250 health translators were trained. Currently this center provides translation support and training for translation volunteers during crises all over the world (earthquake in Nepal, nuclear disaster in Japan, Syrian refugee crisis, and the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar and Bangladesh). During the Ebola pandemic in West Africa Simon trained dozens of translators to help educate the population about Ebola in their own language. During a debate in the British House of Lords TWBs involvement was specifically praised!
