Is multilingual desktop publishing (or “DTP”) a standalone service?
Yes, we offer multilingual DTP as a standalone service in most languages or as part of our full translation service.
What kinds of documents can you create?
In DTP, a “document” can mean many things. This includes text, images, videos, web pages, animation and more.
We’re a medical translation agency. So our multilingual DTP service is mostly for medical devices, implants and medicines. For more information about the types of documents we can help you create, send us a message.
What is the difference between general DTP and DTP for translation?
With general DTP, you create a single document. With translation DTP, we create multiple translations that are formatted to match your design as closely as possible. We do this in 3 steps:
- We prepare the layout of your document before translation. This ensures it is readable and translatable for our translators and their software
- We send the prepared document to our translators for translation.
- We adjust the layout of the translations after translation. This compensates for differences in length and punctuation between languages.
This may sound complicated. But our multilingual DTP team handles the entire process to ensure your document looks good in every language.
Do I need to provide a template from a graphic designer?
If you have a formatted source template from a graphic designer, we can work with that. If you don’t, send us a previous document with a similar design or describe the look and feel you want. Whatever you have, we find a way to make it work.
Can you prepare my documents for printing?
We can prepare your document and/or translations to your printer’s specifications. We are also happy to speak to your printer directly, if you prefer. This way, you can send your documents straight to your printer without needing to make any fiddly adjustments at your end.
Please note: we can prepare your documents for printing. But we are not printers. We cannot handle printing at our end.

So all I have to do is create a source text?
That’s it. Just give us a formatted source document. Or if you don’t have one, give us a raw text file, like a Word document or similar. We then create fully formatted translations that match your source design. All you do is check the layout and content of the translation(s) and you’re done!
What if I’m not sure about the quality of my source text?
